The Anhinga Trail
|
A small fish hangs on the bill of an anhinga after the bird speared it, while fishing underwater in The Anhinga Trail section of Everglades National Park near Homestead, Fla. Wednesday, June 30, 2010. The anhinga is the one of the best fresh water diving bird. It slips beneath the water surface quietly, barely making a ripple and fishes for its food. It eats fish, frogs, eggs, and even small alligators. After spearing the fish it flipped it off its bill and swallowed it. (AP Photo/J Pat Carter)
