Bentley Bentayga
|
Upon it's release, the Bentley Bentayga became the world's fastest production SUV, with a electronically-limited top speed of 187 mph (301 km/h), faster than any other SUV as of June 2016. It also became the most-expensive SUV on the market, though the Range Rover SVAutobigraphy, and the upcoming Rolls-Royce Cullinan and the Lamborghini Urus, (with which the Bentayga shares 20% of it's parts) are or are projected to be close to the price of the Bentayga.
using unibody construction, a Bentley W12 and full-time all-wheel drive. It is based on the Volkswagen Group MLB platform, the same platform used in the second-generation Audi Q7 and the future third-generation Porsche Cayenne and Volkswagen Touareg, as well as the Lamborghini Urus, but 80% of the Bentayga's parts are unique. And thus the Bentayga is quite different than them.
The Bentayga is Bentley's first production SUV, and it is an evolution of the 2012 Bentley EXP 9 F concept car. It was formally unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2015 and production began on 27 November 2015 at Bentley's Crewe factory, as a 2016 model.
