Old School US Photography By Christine Osinski
|
Her photographs have been reviewed and published in Newsday, American Photographer, The Village Voice and Doubletake, among other arts and news publications. They are also in the collections of MoMA, the Museum of the City of New York, the Smithsonian Institute and the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston. She has received grants from the Staten Island Council on the Arts and the New York State Council on the Arts, among other professional awards.
A lasting impression of Osinski's work is its unmistakable pleasure, which explains another aspect of her artistic commitment. She is like the ecstatic uncle in Ingmar Bergman's Fanny and Alexander, who looks with wonder and gratitude at the clamoring lot around the dinner table and marvels at life's messy loveliness.
