'I approach things in a very straightforward way', says Dominic. 'I'm not a purist by any means, but I do approach things as straightforward and professional as I possibly can, and in the end, the art comes through in the picture even if it is for something very cut and dry.'
Hailing from North Jersey, listening to U2, The Ramones, The Rolling Stones and The Clash, Dominic's interest in the art of photography was sparked by his interest in music, most notably by the edgy imagery and raw visual reaction he had to shots in his favorite music magazines. Ironically, some of his early and most acclaimed work has been for pictures of musicians in some of the same magazines like Rolling Stone that had sparked his interest in photography in the first place.
'Shooting the Beastie Boys and shooting a corporate executive is certainly two entirely different things, but at the end of the day, I've got to come up with an interesting shot', says Dominic; 'I've got to light it, find a great location, and compose the shot withing the setting itself, so it's all the same element to me.'
