• Flat soled shoes or dress sneakers like Sperry Top-Sider, black Converse Chucks, etc. Most students wear sneakers if they attend a public school, and dress shoes if they attend a private or inner-city school.
Girls:
• Skirts - Usually plaid or a solid color in private schools, but public schools usually offer more choices. Nearly all schools have a length requirement.
• Skorts - More common in lower grades. At about 5th grades female students usually start to wear skirts or a jumper dress as part of a dress code or uniform.
