Old School US Photography By Christine Osinski

Osinski began her art studies at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where she credits the brilliance of photohistorian Hugh Edwards with awakening her to photography's force and physical authority. She received her master's degree from the Yale School of Art. Osinski is an Associate Professor of Art at Cooper Union and recently assumed the function of Director of Academic Advisement. She has lectured and taught at numerous institutions, including Yale, Rutgers University, Pratt Institute and Parsons School of Design.
Osinski's work has been exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art, the Bronx Council on the Arts, Light Gallery and Jingshan Tushuguan in China.
Her photographs have been reviewed and published in Newsday, American Photographer, The Village Voice and Doubletake, among other arts and news publications. They are also in the collections of MoMA, the Museum of the City of New York, the Smithsonian Institute and the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston. She has received grants from the Staten Island Council on the Arts and the New York State Council on the Arts, among other professional awards.
