Graffiti Drawings By Banksy
|
In August 2005, Banksy, on a trip to the Palestinian territories, created nine images on Israel's highly controversial West Bank barrier. He reportedly said "The Israeli government is building a wall surrounding the occupied Palestinian territories. It stands three times the height the Berlin Wall and will eventually run for over 700km—the distance from London to Zurich. "
Banksy held an exhibition called Barely Legal, billed as a "three day vandalised warehouse extravaganza" in Los Angeles, on the weekend 16 September. The exhibition featured a live "elephant in a room", painted in a pink and gold floral wallpaper pattern.
