His shooting career
Anthony Mandler is one of the top commercial and music video directors working today, having written and directed music videos for artists including Rihanna ("Only Girl"), Drake ("Find Your Love"), Usher feat. will.i.am ("OMG"), Jay-Z ("Run This Town"), The Killers ("A Dustland Fairytale"), John Legend ("Everybody Knows"), T.I. ("Live Your Life"), One Republic ("Stop and Stare") and Muse ("Neutron Star Collision (Love Is Forever)"). His most notable and frequent collaborator is Rihanna. The two have worked on more than a dozen videos together throughout her career, starting with "Unfaithful" in 2006 and most recently "Only Girl (In the World)". In commercials, he has worked with international clients such as Motorola, Samsung, Nike and Ciroc.
Beginning his career as a photographer, Mandler's work has been featured on the covers of major magazines such as Entertainment Weekly, Esquire, Men's Health, and ESPN The Magazine, and his celebrity portraits include Ryan Phillippe, Eva Mendes, Lebron James, Eminem, Colin Farrell, David Beckham, Heath Ledger, and Katie Holmes, among others.
