Animals that adopt other species as thier own. Lions take care baby antelopes; baboons befriend chickens. Within the animal kingdom, there have been several examples animals bonding with others outside their own species.
Pet adoption usually refers to the process taking guardianship and responsibility for a pet that a previous owner has abandoned or released to a shelter or rescue organization. Common sources for adoptable pets are
