Steampunk Sculpture By Pierre Matter

Combining nature and civilization, Its metal animals reflect the overlap between nature and man. They reflect the concern of the monstrosity possible but still give off a feeling of power that appears to offer modern technology. He currently works in his studio (a former garage) at Buhl. It is exhibited in galleries Opera Gallery in New York, Paris, Singapore, Miami, Hong Kong, London, Venice, Geneva, Seoul, Monaco, Dubai, Shanghai Sculpture Space, as well as yet unknown and remains in Alsace and France.
Works
• Bull spirit: copper bull (5 m long and 1.5 tons) installed in 2006 at the center of sculptures Shanghai and commissioned for the Expo that the city will host in 2010. The bull is revered in China as a civilizing force (Shennong) but also as a source of cosmic disorder (Tch'yeou).
