Animal Photography By Süha Derbent

Working as a professional photographer for 20 years, Süha Derbent took travel photographs for the Cumhuriyet daily, Atlas magazine and Marie Claire magazine respectively. He also worked as Director of Photography for two years at the Gezi National Geographic Traveler published by Number One Hearst Publishing. Derbent travelled through more than 60 countries ranging from Scandinavia to Madagascar, Sri Lanka to Canada.
Aiming to photograph the main behavior patterns of the seven large wild cats living on earth, Derbent has so far photographed the entire behavior patterns of seven of these cats. The large cats he photographed are the lion, the leopard, the cheetah, the tiger, the puma, the jaguar and the snow leopard. Derbent, who went to the Virunga National Park in Congo in 2007 with WWF-Tiirkiye General Manager Dr. Filiz Demirayak to photograph the mountain gorillas facing extinction has donated his entire archive of photographs of species under threat of extinction to WWF-Tiirkiye.
