Amphibious 1000 Luxury Resort By Giancarlo Zema, Qatar
|
Called Amphibious 1000, this design envisions Qatar’s first semi-submerged hotel as a big aquatic animal stretching out from the land into the sea. Designed by the Giancarlo Zema Design Group, the project is composed of a land section and sea section, with all of the structures situated in a semi-circle around a tower containing a restaurant with sweeping panoramic views. Guests will be able to stay in the 80 floating suites (called jelly fish) which will boast underwater views within the artificial reef.
Giancarlo Zema Design Group is an architecture studio in Rome, specialized in semi-submerged architectural structures, marine parks, floating habitats and yacht design.
The studio was founded in 2001 as a dynamic and flexible organization, which guarantees the whole design process, from the concept to the executive details. It deeply respects nature and therefore choose recyclable non-pollutiong materials (such us steel, glass and aluminium), to project environmentally-friendly architecture with soft lines that blend with nature.
