Dmitry Maximov is a Moscow-based artist who simply could not decide between illustration and photography manipulation, so he picked both forms of art. The Russian artist produces lovable, sad, yet happy and endearing little characters, which he sets against photographed backgrounds: forests, forest clearings, frozen lakes, cars, etc.. They are monsters, ghouls and aliens, yet there is nothing frightening about their appearance. Mix of photography and illustration he creates micro worlds, centered of solitude, where strange creatures seem to explore the world.
