Hot Nuns By Sebastián Faena
|
Photographer Sebastián Faena was born in 1980 in Buenos Aires. He studied literature and music at Columbia University and dropped out after 2 years in order to work on his first feature film, La Mujer Rota, which was released to both controversy and acclaim in his native Buenos Aires in the Fall of 2007.
In 2008, he made his powerful editorial debut in V magazine with a twenty-page story. He has since established himself in New York as a unique talent, distinctly capturing the top female faces in the industry today and celebrities like Lady Gaga. His bold and dramatic photographs, charged with emotion and narrative, separate Sebastián from other photographers working in the industry today. He has produced memorable editorials, like the controversial series of "Hot Nuns", created for Pop magazine in collaboration with editor Katie Grand, which includes six portrait covers styled by Miuccia Prada, or the tongue-in-cheek "Footballers Wives" for V magazine with fashion editor Carlyne Cerf de Duzeele. Sebastián shoots regularly for V Magazine. He lives and work in NYC.
